Shipping Policy

This Shipping Policy applies to all orders placed with Critical Error Computing ("we", "us", "our"). By placing an order, you agree to the terms below. This policy should be read together with our Refund Policy, Warranty, and Terms of Service.

Processing and Build Times

Order processing time is separate from shipping transit time. Processing begins once payment (or the required deposit under a build or installment agreement) has cleared and we have confirmed your order details.

In-stock accessories, peripherals, and small parts typically ship within 3-5 business days. Custom and made-to-order systems require a build period; the estimated build and lead time for your system is quoted at the time of order or stated in your separate build or installment agreement. Build estimates are good-faith projections and are not guaranteed delivery dates. We will notify you if your build timeline changes materially.

Pre-order and backorder items ship once stock is available. Where an order contains both in-stock and pre-order items, we may hold the order and ship it complete, or split the shipment at our discretion.

Shipping Methods and Carriers

We ship completed systems via major carriers (such as FedEx or UPS) using packaging designed to protect high-value, sensitive hardware. Smaller items may ship via USPS or another carrier at our discretion. We select the carrier and service level unless a specific method has been agreed in writing.

Shipping Costs

Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on the weight, dimensions, declared value, and destination of your order, and are shown before you complete your purchase. Any applicable taxes are additional. We reserve the right to correct shipping charges that are misquoted due to error.

Insurance and Signature on Delivery

Completed systems are shipped insured for their full value. For the protection of both parties, orders at or above [SIGNATURE THRESHOLD, e.g. $500] require an adult signature on delivery. Please ensure someone is available to receive and sign for your shipment.

Local Pickup

Local pickup is available from our shop in Humble, Texas by appointment. If you select local pickup, we will contact you when your order is ready and arrange a pickup time. Photo identification matching the order may be required at pickup.

Order Tracking

Once your order ships, we will send tracking information to the email address on your order. If you do not receive tracking within a reasonable time after your build is completed, please contact us.

Address Accuracy

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address. We are not responsible for orders delayed, misdelivered, or lost due to an incorrect or incomplete address. Orders returned to us due to an undeliverable address may be subject to re-shipment fees. Please verify your address carefully before completing checkout.

Damaged, Lost, or Stolen Shipments

Please inspect your shipment upon delivery. If your package arrives visibly damaged, document the damage with photographs before and during unboxing where possible, and report it to us at info@cec.direct within [DAMAGE WINDOW, e.g. 48 hours] of delivery so we can assist with a carrier claim. Retain all original packaging until any claim is resolved.

If tracking shows delivery but you have not received your package, or a shipment is lost in transit, contact us promptly so we can open a claim with the carrier. Resolution of carrier claims is subject to the carrier's investigation and timelines.

Shipping Restrictions and Delays

We currently ship within the United States. We do not control carrier networks and are not liable for delays caused by carriers, weather, customs, or other events beyond our reasonable control. Any delivery estimate provided by us or a carrier is not guaranteed.

Title and Risk of Loss

For shipped orders, title and risk of loss pass to you upon our delivery of the package to the carrier, subject to the insurance and claims process described above. For local pickup, title and risk of loss pass to you upon pickup.
